Still fun and romantic but now in a beautiful art-filled version, I love even more.
This was SOOOOO Cute and beautiful :(
Laini Taylor weaves her own little beautiful world!
Schattig!
3.5 stars It was nice to get back into this world! The Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy is one of my favourite YA series and so this was definitely a treat! I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had read it back then when I was fully invested in the story though. Zuz and Mik are so cute together ^.^ I love that we got to see how their “first date” went. The art is really amazing and the book is just beautiful! I'm glad they decided to publish it in physical form at last.
This novella fills in the gap in Daughter of Smoke & Bone, where Karou was busy traveling around the world and came back to see Zuzana and Mik officially dating. It's a cute story featuring their magical first date and first kiss. No grim war, no deaths, no bitter betrayals here―just sweetness.
I think it's a nice addition to the series that fleshed out Zuzana and Mik a bit more, giving more substance to their relationship and allowing you to know them better.
A sweet little story starring the most iconic couple of the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series. It was cute and had all of the right elements to keep me engaged in something I didn't know I needed.
What an absolutely delightful novella! It's the side story I never knew I needed. I love these two characters in the main trilogy, so getting to see them at the centre was a lot of fun. Of course adding in Laini Taylor's amazing writing and whimsical dark storytelling and it was bound to be a win. I think this has set the bar too high for first dates though, I'm not sure I'll be satisfied with anything less than a treasure map and magic. The illustrations were also win, they added a lot to the story and I loved the added artistic element. So worthwhile if you like the original trilogy!
