The Last to Vanish

I am picky about reading thrillers and protagonists in thrillers. This was just the thriller I wanted! I love the hotel setting and Abby is a confident and capable woman. She is hiding a secret, but she is also trying to be a good person. There are lots of secrets, but not a lot of actually awful people. I never could have guessed the bad guy or the twist. The setting was really well done. We got to see the tension between the town and the tourists, which made Cutter's Pass feel all the more real. I will definitely be reading more Megan Miranda books!

Al van in het begin vond ik de vertelstijl langdradig en had ik moeite om in het verhaal te komen. Het uitgangspunt leek nochtans een boeiend en intrigerend verhaal te beloven, dus ik zette door, in de verwachting dat het tempo op een bepaald moment wel opgedreven zou worden.
Helaas was dit niet het geval. Het boek bleef traag en duf, waarbij het merendeel van de plot op een heel monotone manier werd verteld in een ware infodump stijl, zonder dat we enige actie zien.
De ontknoping vond ik ook maar een tegenvaller en kon het verhaal voor mij dus ook niet redden.

Really just “meh”. For me it didn't get interesting until it was almost over.

oh this was so boring !!!!!!!!!!! I pushed thru after reading reviews abt all the plot twists and then I finished the book...well that was disappointing to say the least. the twist was fine but literally the 70% of the book is literally just nothing so before i got to the ending i just wanted the book to be over.
