As soon as I got home from work today, I sat down and started this book. I had to take two breaks, one for dinner and another because I was getting to wrapped up in the story and needed a breather. For me, this book was even better than the first. This installment brought in Reed's POV and I feel like we got to know so many more details and secrets about the Royals. It was still just as ridiculous as the previous book, but kept me entertained.
That being said, the cliffhanger in this book was even worse than the first. We were left with two huge bombshells that have me dying for Twisted Palace.
I really liked the ending with the plot twist and cliff hanger, but the rest of the book was not my favorite. I liked the beginning because it introduces the conflict between the brothers, specifically Easton and Reed, and shows the division between the brothers, and how there really is a big difference in the behaviors of the older and younger brothers. I liked the Steve coming back, but because Brooke has just died and Reed had been arrested so it just kind of got lost in the hassle, and since most of the book was not as interesting, and I stand by that it did build very well to what happened in the next book. Honestly, I have been struggling to read since forever, and the twist got me interested enough to read the next book right away which made me happy, but we are now just vibing.
Ella has run away and the family dynamic is worse than ever. All the boys hold Reed responsible. The kids at school have gotten worse with their bullying coz Reed can't be bothered to keep them in check. When Ella comes back, I liked that she took some time to figure out her feelings towards Reed and whether she wanted to trust him again. She also grows more confident in this book and I enjoyed her character development and her epic takedown of Jordan was quite a sight. Reed's POV gave a lot of insight into his feelings and I loved getting to know him better. I fell in love with their relationship even more and that's why the ending cliffhanger blew my mind away. I mean, WHAT THE HELL!!!!
OMG OMG OMG. My jaw is on the floor. What is that ending?! How can these authors throw that much at us?! I can't with this family. I just can't. There are no words. If I thought the wait for Broken Prince was bad, the wait for Twisted Palace is going to be EXCRUCIATING. If you're looking for a read that will take you on the most intense roller coaster ride you could ever imagine, The Royals series is it.
