When Shoko, a girl who can’t hear, enters his elementary school class, she becomes their favorite target, and Shoya and his friends goad each other into devising new tortures for her. But the children’s cruelty goes too far. Shoko is forced to leave the school, and Shoya ends up shouldering all the blame. Six years later, the two meet again. I have mixed feelings about this series. I still can't decide whether I like it or not.

This was on our high school's summer reading list a while ago and I finally picked it up while at the desk the other day. (Don't tell.) I enjoyed it but it's definitely the first volume. I have a feeling if I continue I will be emotionally devastated.
